2011 was not a very good year for me when it comes to expanding my itunes library. I’m grateful for having Spotify on my computer at work so I listen to music when I am working on projects, but it’s defnitely stopped me from downloading new music that I can listen to anywhere.
Here’s to 2012! And to using the rest of the $43.17 on my mp3 fiesta account!

A couple of nights ago I talked to one of my best buds on the phone for over an hour. She lives in New York now and we had a lot of catching up to to from the last couple of months. Every time we talk it’s like no time has passed. I kind of wish we had these Rebecca Minkoff phone cases I saw on shopbop. If we don’t have time to chat on the phone we still text each other. Or, she always finds the best cat videos to send me. She knows me so well.

Such a fun video from Madewell (watch it here). I used to love choose your own adventure books when I was a kid. The best part was to go back and read the adventure you didn’t choose the first time around.

I was so excited when I learned about J Brand teaming up with City Year in support of Los Angeles Public Schools. It’s not that often that worlds of fashion and education collide and I have spent many hours picking my brand on how to incorporate these two passions of mine.
Right now you can buy the J Brand 811 Mid-Rise Skinny Leg and 100% of the proceeds will go to City Year. How cool is that? I have been on a shopping diet for the last couple of months, trying to save the little money I make, but I think this would be a pretty good excuse for some retail therapy.
Watch this video to learn a little more about City Year and their partnership with J Brand. Did I mention my favorite (and most flattering) pair of jeans are from J Brand? Well, they are!

Every year during the last week of September and first couple of weeks of October, the leaves in Colorado change to a shade of yellow that is almost fluorescent. For the last few years James and I had one specific spot we’d drive to and park, then wander around in the Aspen groves, taking fun pictures (like the one we used for our Christmas card) while soaking in the beauty of fall in Colorado. This year we decided to try something different. We found a great hike on Mt. Evans that lead us to one of the most amazing Aspen groves I’ve ever seen. There was even a creek that James took a dip in, twice. Growing up in California I never really experienced fall until I moved to Colorado. Nine years later I am still in complete awe of the vivid colors that signal the changing of the seasons.
