My very dear friend/college roommate/vegan/raw dessert maker extraordinaire, is trying to get funding for her business Sidesaddle Kitchen. She has been selling her healthy, but “not gross” desserts at the San Francisco Underground Market for the past year and a half, but they were recently shut down by the Health Department (read the NYT article here). She has had great response from the public and there are several retailers who are ready to sell her product. The only problem…she needs a commercial kitchen in order to keep of with the demands of her clients and she needs all of the legal certification as well.
